Spearfishing in Pakistan with Waqar Khan
Pakistan Spearfishing teaches spearfishing as a skill on the Arabian Sea. Waqar Khan is a freediving instructor. The hunting work sits beside that: breath, approach, and an ethical take.

What is spearfishing?
Spearfishing here is hunting on a breath-hold, with a buddy, in water you can read. It is not a guaranteed catch and it is not taught as a separate instructor title. People looking for spearfishing instruction in Pakistan train these skills with Waqar Khan.
What you actually practise
Breath control, equalisation, duck diving, a quiet approach, and how current and structure change where fish hold. Ocean awareness comes before the shot. Equipment for the day is confirmed when you book, so do not assume a gun or a float is included.
The rule on every day is the same: take only what you will use, and leave the reef as you found it. A fish on the boat is not the measure of the session. Private sessions and guided days for visitors are set on WhatsApp, with notes on the trips page.
The coast
Days run from Karachi at Clifton, Churna Island, Mubarak Village and Cape Monze. Churna is the usual longer coastal day. Clifton is the shore classroom. Which one you use depends on the sea and your experience.
See Churna Island and the trip notes if you are planning from abroad.
Safety
Spearfishing adds a shaft, a float and a buddy problem to an already serious breath-hold dive. You do not hunt alone. You do not push a descent when equalisation fails. Waqar sets the depth and the task for the people in the water that day.
Questions
- Can I learn spearfishing in Karachi?
- Yes. Waqar Khan teaches spearfishing skills on the Karachi coast, alongside freediving. The day and the spot are confirmed when you enquire.
- Is this for beginners?
- Beginners start with comfort in the water, a breath-hold and a supervised plan. A first spearfishing dive is only set when that base is in place.
- Do you guarantee a catch?
- No. The work is reading the coast, approaching fish and taking only what you will use.
- Can visitors from outside Pakistan join?
- Yes. Tell Waqar your dates and experience. He will say whether a coastal day or a training block fits.
